Silestone Home Additions & ADU: The Orlando Owner’s Guide
If you’re planning a home addition or ADU in Orlando with Silestone surfaces, the installed cost typically falls between $45,000 and $130,000 for the addition itself, plus $90,000 to $220,000 for a full ADU construction. We stock and install Silestone-compatible quartz for countertops, islands, wet bars, and bathroom vanities inside these projects, and we can usually have slabs templated and installed within two to three weeks once framing and cabinetry are set. Most Orlando homeowners discover the Silestone part of the equation matters late in the game: cabinets go in, the old laminate template shows up, and suddenly the overhang, seam placement, or edge profile doesn’t match what the slab shop quoted. That’s exactly the problem we solve every week.
Orlando’s humidity and hard-water profile make Silestone a smart pick for ADUs and additions, but only if the fabrication matches the actual cabinet dimensions and the faucet drill locations. We handle the whole thing: measure, template, fabricate, install, and seal. No finger-pointing between the countertop shop and the GC.
Which Silestone Models This Applies To

Silestone’s quartz lineup breaks into a few families that matter for home additions and ADUs. The most common in Orlando projects are theEternal Series (Silestone’s newer mineral-heavy composition), the Loft Series (matte, concrete-look finishes), and the classic Mythology Series and Life Series colors like Lagoon, Calacatta Gold, and Eternal Statuario. Each series has slightly different slab dimensions: most standard slabs run 120 by 55 inches (nominal), but some Loft finishes come in a jumbo 128-by-63 format that changes seam math on a long kitchen island.
The gotcha we see repeatedly in Orlando additions: a homeowner orders Silestone for a 10-foot island, the fabricator plans two slabs, and nobody checks whether the color is a jumbo-format product. That mistake alone can add a second seam or force an entire redesign of the island overhang. We verify slab size, pattern direction, and vein continuity against the actual cabinet layout before cutting. For ADUs with small kitchens, a single slab often covers both countertop and a matching backsplash, but only if the backsplash height is planned against slab yield. Aftermarket fabricators can cut Silestone, but using a Silestone-certified fabricator preserves the 25-year warranty through Cosentino. We are an independent contractor, not affiliated with Silestone directly, but we order through authorized Orlando distribution channels so the warranty stays intact.

Signs Your Silestone Home Addition or ADU Plan Is Failing
- Seam placement that runs through the sink or cooktop cutout – this weakens the slab and makes the seam visible every single day. Good layout moves seams to quiet spots, never across a dishwasher opening or a drop-in sink’s narrow front rail.
- Overhang sag on an island without support brackets – Silestone is heavy, roughly 15 to 20 pounds per square foot. A 12-inch overhang without steel or corbel support will eventually crack, usually right where someone leans over to reach the fruit bowl.
- Faucet holes drilled too close to the sink edge – we’ve seen cracks develop within a year when the drill holes sit fewer than two inches from the sink cutout. That zone sees constant water and impact.
- The old template doesn’t match new cabinets – if the installer measures before the cabinetry installer finishes shimming and leveling, the slab won’t land flat. Tolerances on Silestone allow almost zero flex.
- Mismatched edge profile or finish from a patch job – a previous crew may have swapped a slab section from a different lot. Silestone colors shift slightly between production runs, and Orlando’s bright daylight makes any mismatch obvious.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For a home addition in Orlando, Silestone countertop installation runs $2,000 to $6,500 depending on slab count and complexity. Inside a full addition ($45,000 to $130,000), the Silestone component is a mid-sized line item: countertops, island, and maybe a wet bar top. A full ADU ($90,000 to $220,000) includes the kitchen and bath surfaces in the overall build. When we replace a failed Silestone piece, the line items are slab cost, fabrication (cutting, edge profile, sink cutout), templating, install, and disposal of the old top. We give a written price before any slab gets ordered, and our 365-Day Done Right Promise covers the install work for a full year. If a seam opens or a corner chips from a fabrication error, we fix it. That’s in writing.
The thing that drives Orlando prices higher than, say, Ocala: slab shops here pay higher rent, and double-booking is common. We don’t play that. Our quote locks the number. The invoice matches the quote.
DIY or Call Us?
You can read the label on the underside of any existing Silestone remnant, check thickness with a tape measure (most Orlandohome slabs are 2cm or 3cm, with 3cm being the standard for islands), and photograph the color pattern for matching. That’s worth doing before you call anyone. What we don’t recommend: trying to cut, polish, or seam Silestone yourself. Quartz is 90 percent stone and 10 percent resin, and the silica dust from dry-cutting is a lung hazard. Wet-cutting takes a proper bridge saw and diamond tooling. A cracked slab around a sink cutout isn’t a glue job, either: the crack will propagate because the Resin bond doesn’t re-weld. If you’ve got a failed layout, a bad template, or a seam that’s opened up, call us at (850) 809-0306. We’ll measure, tell you what’s salvageable, and give you a written number.
FAQs

Silestone carries a 25-year manufacturer warranty when installed by an authorized fabricator, and in Orlando’s climate, you should get every bit of that with basic care. Heat from a Florida sunroom can fade darker colors faster, so use a UV film on adjacent glass or stick to lighter tones there.
Small chips can be filled with a color-matched epoxy, and we do that often for edge nicks. A structural crack through the full slab thickness means replacement because the slab loses its load-bearing integrity and Orlando’s humidity will work into the crack over time. Call (850) 809-0306 and we’ll tell you which one you have.
Once cabinets are set and the template is taken, most Silestone installs go from ordering to finished install in two to three weeks. Seams be up for tight timelines; we plan slab lead times around the rest of the addition schedule so the countertop doesn’t hold up the punch list.
We order per project through local Orlando distribution, which means you get the exact color and lot you picked, not whatever was left in a warehouse. That also lets us hand-select slabs for large islands and match vein direction across multiple pieces.
If you’re deep in a home addition or ADU in Orlando and the Silestone piece isn’t lining up, call (850) 809-0306. We’ll walk through dimensions, slab logistics, and give you a free estimate in writing. Good work doesn’t need a speech, it just needs to hold up.
