Abodu Fence Installation: The Orlando Owner’s Guide

Abodu fence installation in Orlando typically runs between $3,500 and $9,000 for a full perimeter install, depending on linear footage, fence style, and whether we’re pulling old posts or setting new ones. We stock Abodu-compatible fencing components and can usually get a crew out within a few days of your call, not a few weeks. Most owners discover their fence is failing the hard way: a post leans after an afternoon thunderstorm, a gate drags against the paver driveway, or the bottom rail has started to rot where sprinklers hit it every morning.

If you’re reading this, you probably already know something’s wrong. The good news is that fence work on an Abodu home doesn’t have to turn into a mystery project with a moving price tag. We write the number down before we pick up a post-hole digger, and that’s the number you pay. Luca Romano has been running fence installs across Orlando since the mid-2000s, and the crew has seen every way Florida weather tries to take a fence down.

Which Abodu Models This Applies To

A wide opening with a new beam where the kitchen wall was removed

Abodu homes come in a few standard configurations, but the fence logic stays consistent across the Studio, One Bedroom, and Two Bedroom models. The key detail is setback distance from the accessory dwelling unit to the property line. In Orlando, most Abodu installs sit in backyards in neighborhoods like College Park, Audubon Park, and Conway, where the side yard might be six feet wide or twenty. The fence needs to follow Orlando’s residential code for height (typically six feet max in rear yards) and post depth, and it needs to clear any utility easements without cutting corners on footing depth.

When we match parts to an Abodu home, we look at gate hardware first, because that’s where model-specific issues show up. A standard Abodu backyard gate swings on a 4×4 or 6×6 post depending on the gate width, and if the original install used lightweight hinges, Florida humidity plus daily use will wear them out in three to five years. We carry OEM-equivalent hardware and aftermarket options that hold up better in Orlando’s wet season. One compatibility gotcha we see often: Abodu’s narrower side-yard configurations require a gate that swings inward, which forces specific hinge placement so the latch doesn’t bind against the ADU wall when the ground shifts after heavy rain. If someone slaps on a generic gate kit, it binds within a year. We’ve fixed that exact problem in Winter Park and Baldwin Park more times than we can count.

Sawyer Remodel Orlando is an independent service provider. We’re not affiliated with Abodu, but we work on their homes regularly and know the quirks of their installs.

Signs Your Abodu Fence Installation Is Failing

  • Posts leaning after rain. This is the big one in Orlando. Sandy soil plus afternoon downpours means a post set in shallow concrete will start to move. If you can rock a post with two hands, the footing has failed and it’s a matter of time before the section drops.
  • Gate dragging or sticking. When the gate scrapes the ground or won’t latch, the hinges have usually pulled loose from the post, or the post itself is out of plumb. Continuing to force the gate open with your shoulder will crack the hinge mortise and turn a $200 repair into a $1,200 post replacement.
  • Bottom rail softening or splitting. In Orlando, sprinklers are the silent fence killer. Water hits the same spot every other morning, and pressure-treated lumber eventually gives out. Abodu’s tighter yard layouts mean the fence sits closer to the home’s drip line, which keeps the bottom rail damp longer.
  • Pickets pulling away from the top rail. Heat and humidity cycles expand and contract the wood. Nails back out. Once a picket is loose, rain gets into the end grain and the picket starts splitting from the top down.
  • Fence section bowing between posts. If the horizontal rails were under-sized or spaced too far apart for Orlando’s wind loads, the whole section flexes in a storm. You’ll notice it most on the west side of the property, where afternoon thunderstorms hit hardest.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

Scope Typical Orlando Installed Price
Full fence replacement (50 – 75 linear feet) $3,500 – $5,500
Full fence replacement (75 – 150 linear feet) $5,500 – $9,000
Gate replacement only $400 – $1,200
Post reset or single post replacement $250 – $600 per post
Section repair (rail + pickets) $300 – $800 per section

The price range comes down to three things: linear feet, fence style, and access. A basic pressure-treated dog-ear fence on flat ground runs at the lower end. If you want a board-on-board privacy fence or cedar, that pushes the number up. Tight access, like those narrow side yards common on Abodu lots in Orlando, means more hand-digging and more time, which shows up in the labor line item. Every quote includes the written price before work starts, old fence haul-away, post-hole digging to code depth, concrete, and the 365-Day Done Right Promise on the work.

DIY or Call Us?

You can check a few things yourself before calling: walk the fence line and mark every loose picket with painter’s tape, note which gates bind and which direction they lean, and check whether sprinkler heads are spraying directly on any section. That’s useful information and it helps us quote you accurately over the phone.

What we don’t recommend is resetting posts yourself, and here’s why: a fence post needs to be buried deep enough to resist Orlando’s wind loads and set in enough concrete to survive saturated soil. If you dig it shallow because the ground is tough, the post moves again next wet season and you’ve spent a weekend for nothing. The same goes for pulling out old concrete. We have the equipment and the crew to do it in a day, and the work carries a written warranty. If you’d rather not spend your Saturday in a hole, call (850) 809-0306 and we’ll get you a price.
