Boxabl Driveway & Pavers: The Orlando Owner’s Guide
We stock and install Boxabl-compatible driveway pavers and paver systems throughout Orlando, with typical installed pricing falling between $3,500 and $18,000 depending on the size of your Boxabl’s footprint and the paver style you choose. Most owners discover a problem when a paver sinks, shifts, or cracks under the weight of their Boxabl unit’s corner anchors, or when water starts pooling against the frame after a heavy Orlando rain. If your Boxabl is sitting on uneven, cracked, or sinking pavers, the fix is not just cosmetic: the unit’s level depends on the surface beneath it, and an unlevel Boxabl puts stress on the corner connections that were never designed to flex.
We’re an independent Orlando contractor, not affiliated with Boxabl, but we’ve worked on enough Boxabl installs in Central Florida to know exactly how these units sit, where they settle, and what the paver base under them has to withstand.
Which Boxabl Models This Applies To

Boxabl’s Casita is the model we see most often in Orlando, and its 20-foot by 20-foot footprint means the paver pad under it has to be dead level across 400 square feet. That’s a tighter tolerance than a typical residential patio, because the Casita’s four corner jacks adjust only so far. If your pavers are out of level by more than half an inch across that span, you’ll start seeing gaps where the steel frame leaves the surface.
The compatibility question that matters is not the Boxabl model year, it’s the paver base spec. Boxabl’s installation guidance requires a compacted base that can hold the unit’s roughly 16,000 to 20,000 pounds of delivered weight without shifting. That means a 4-to-6-inch compacted gravel base under the pavers, plus edge restraints so the perimeter pavers don’t walk outward under load. If you bought your Boxabl used and it came with an existing pad, there’s a good chance that pad was built for a shed or a hot tub, not a 20-foot Boxabl. That’s the number one compatibility gotcha we run into in Orlando neighborhoods like College Park and Baldwin Park: the pad looks fine, but it was never built to Boxabl’s spec.
For the pavers themselves, we recommend a uniform 60mm concrete paver with a minimum 8,000 psi compressive strength. Thinner 40mm pavers crack under the concentrated load of the corner jacks. We stock both OEM-spec and quality aftermarket pavers in the sizes and colors that match existing pads, so a repair blends instead of sticking out.

Signs Your Boxabl Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- Corner pavers are sinking or cracked. The four corner jacks on a Boxabl concentrate thousands of pounds into a small area. If the pavers under those corners are 40mm instead of 60mm, or the base wasn’t compacted properly, you’ll see spider cracks radiating out from each corner within the first year.
- Water pools against the steel frame after rain. Orlando gets 50+ inches of rain a year, and a paver pad that’s settled even a quarter inch creates a low spot where water sits against the Boxabl’s bottom rail. That standing water leads to frame corrosion and, eventually, rust stains on the pavers.
- You can see daylight under one corner. If the unit’s corner jack is fully extended and the frame still doesn’t touch the paver, the pad has settled beyond what the jack can compensate for. This is the clearest sign the base under the pavers is failing, not just the pavers themselves.
- Pavers along the perimeter are separating from the field. Without edge restraints, the outer row of pavers drifts outward under load, leaving a gap that widens over time. You’ll notice the seam between the edge paver and the next row getting wider near the door, where foot traffic is heaviest.
- Visible dips or waves in the pad surface. Walk the pad and look at it from a kneeling position, with the sun low behind you. If the pavers dip in the middle where the Boxabl’s weight is centered, the gravel base has settled and needs to come up and be re-compacted before the pavers go back down.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For a full Boxabl-compatible paver pad in Orlando, plan on $7,000 to $18,000 installed, including excavation, base material, edge restraints, pavers, and labor. A smaller repair, like pulling up and re-setting a failed section or replacing a dozen cracked pavers, typically runs $1,500 to $4,500 depending on how much base material needs to be re-compacted.
Here’s what drives the range:
- Pad size: A standard Casita pad is 400 square feet; a pad with a driveway approach or extra patio space pushes the square footage up and the price with it.
- Paver type: Basic 60mm concrete pavers are the most economical; textured or colored pavers that match an HOA palette add $2 to $6 per square foot.
- Base condition: If the existing base is sand-only or thin gravel, we’re excavating deeper and hauling in new compacted base. That’s the labor-intensive part, and it’s also the part that determines whether the pad lasts ten years or two.
Every paver job we do in Orlando includes a written line-item price before any work starts, so you know the cost of materials, base, and labor separately. The work is covered by our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the pad settles or a paver cracks within a year, we come back and make it right at no charge.
DIY or Call Us?
You can absolutely diagnose a failing paver pad yourself: look for the corner cracks, the daylight gaps, and the pooling water listed above. You can also check whether your corner jacks are maxed out, which tells you the pad, not the unit, is the problem. What we’d caution against is pulling up pavers and re-compacting the base yourself. The base under a Boxabl has to be compacted in lifts, checked with a level across the full 20-foot span, and brought back to within an eighth of an inch of spec. Get it wrong and you’ll be redoing it in a year, usually after the rainy season exposes every low spot. If you’re anywhere in Orlando and want a straight read on whether your pad needs a repair or a full rebuild, call us at (850) 809-0306 and we’ll walk the pad with you and give you a written estimate.
FAQs

In Orlando, a Boxabl paver pad built to spec with a compacted 4-to-6-inch base and 60mm pavers lasts 15 to 25 years before needing meaningful work. Pads built to a lighter standard, or with 40mm pavers, typically start showing corner cracks and settlement within 2 to 5 years, because the Orlando climate’s wet-dry cycles and sandy soil accelerate base erosion. Call (850) 809-0306 and we’ll tell you honestly whether your pad was ever built to the right spec.
A sinking pad can usually be repaired by lifting the affected section, re-compacting or replacing the base material, and re-setting the pavers, which costs far less than a full rebuild. The exception is a pad that’s sinking across more than half its area, because at that point the base was never properly installed and patching it piecemeal just moves the failure around. Call (850) 809-0306 for a free assessment and a written repair quote before you decide.
A full paver pad replacement for a Boxabl in Orlando typically takes 3 to 5 working days from demolition to final compaction, depending on access and whether we’re also correcting drainage. A sectional repair is usually done in a single day. We’ll put the schedule in writing before we start, and you’ll get photo updates as the base goes in and as the pavers are laid.
We stock standard 60mm concrete pavers in the colors most Orlando Boxabl owners use, so a repair usually starts the same week we quote it. If your existing pad uses a specialty color or texture, we source it from our local Orlando suppliers and confirm the match with you before any work begins. Call (850) 809-0306 with a photo of your pad and we’ll tell you what we can match from stock.
