Cambridge Pavers Driveway & Pavers: The Orlando Owner’s Guide
We stock and install Cambridge Pavers-compatible driveway and paver systems across Orlando, with typical installed paver driveway pricing running $7,000 to $18,000 depending on square footage, base prep, and the specific Cambridge line you have. Most Orlando homeowners discover they need us when a section of their Cambridge driveway starts sinking, a paver cracks under vehicle weight, or the sand joints between pavers wash out after a heavy afternoon storm. The most common discovery moment is backing out of the garage and feeling a paver shift under the rear tire, or noticing water pooling in one low corner of the driveway that never used to pond.
If your Cambridge Pavers driveway is heaving, separating, or showing sunken spots, the base underneath has usually failed, not the pavers themselves. We’re Sawyer Remodel Orlando, an independent Orlando contractor led by Luca Romano, and we’re not affiliated with Cambridge Pavers. But we work with these products every week, and we carry the compatible edge restraints, bedding sand, joint sand, and replacement pavers on our trucks so we’re not making extra trips across town when you call.
Which Cambridge Pavers Models This Applies To

Cambridge Pavers runs several paver lines that show up constantly in Orlando driveways and patios. The Ledgestone line (their flagstone-look paver, typically 3-piece modular bundles) is the one we see most in College Park and Winter Park driveways. The Roundtable series, with its softer rounded edges, is more common on pool decks and patios. We also handle the Sherwood and Hollandstone lines, plus the Maytrx wall blocks when a Cambridge retaining wall borders the driveway.
Here’s the compatibility gotcha Orlando homeowners run into: Cambridge changes their color blends and paver thickness specs by line, and the 60mm paver you bought for a patio is not rated for driveway traffic. Driveways need the 80mm-thick pavers. If someone built your driveway with 60mm pavers to save a few dollars, that’s exactly the kind of failure we get called to fix. Check the side of an exposed paver or pull one up and measure it with a tape. That thickness number tells us almost everything about whether your base was built right.
On the OEM-versus-aftermarket question: for replacement pavers, color match matters more than brand. A third-party paver of identical dimensions will lock into the same pattern, but if the color mix is off by even one shade, you’ll see that new section from the street for years. When we can’t match the blend closely, we’ll tell you before we start and give you options, including pulling a few pavers from a less visible area of your own driveway and using them in the visible repair zone. That trick has saved more Orlando driveways from looking patched than anything else in our tool kit.

Signs Your Cambridge Pavers Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- Sunken or dipping sections near the garage apron or street edge. Water gets under the base and washes out the soil below, usually because the base was never compacted in proper lifts. In Orlando’s sandy soil, this moves fast once it starts.
- Pavers rocking or tilting when you walk across them. Bedding sand has eroded or was too thin to begin with. A paver that rocks is a paver that will crack under a car tire within months.
- Widening gaps between pavers, especially after rain. Joint sand is washing out. Without joint sand locking the pavers together, the whole system loses lateral strength and each paver starts acting alone.
- Edge pavers spreading outward or separating from the driveway border. The edge restraint failed or was never installed. Once the edge lets go, the field pavers follow within a season.
- White, chalky residue on the paver surface. That’s efflorescence, and while it looks bad, it’s not structural. It tells us water moves through the paver more than it should, which means drainage around the driveway needs attention.
Replacement Cost & What’s Included

In Orlando, a full Cambridge Pavers driveway install runs $7,000 to $18,000, and that gap is driven almost entirely by square footage, whether we’re hauling away an old concrete slab, and how many inches of compacted base the soil demands. A partial repair, like re-screeding a sunken 200-square-foot section with fresh base and resetting the pavers, typically lands in the $1,500 to $4,000 range. Spot repairs, swapping a handful of cracked pavers and re-sanding the joints, run $400 to $1,200.
Every quote from Sawyer Remodel Orlando includes the full breakdown before you say yes: base material, bedding sand, paver cost, haul-away, labor, and the joint sand at the end. It’s a written price, not an estimate that drifts. And every repair carries our workmanship guarantee in writing, backed by the 365-Day Done Right Promise. If the repaired section shifts within a year, we come back and make it right at no charge. That’s how we operate, and Luca Romano signs off on every job personally before we call it done.

You can safely pull a single cracked paver, check the thickness with a tape measure, and check whether the base underneath looks like compacted gravel or just loose sand and dirt. That tells you a lot. You can also confirm where water flows during the next storm, which helps us diagnose whether the failure is base-related or drainage-related. None of that requires a contractor.
What you shouldn’t do is grab a shovel and start tearing out a sunken section to rebuild it yourself. Re-laying pavers properly means compacting base in lifts with a plate compactor, re-screeding bedding sand to grade, and re-sanding joints so the system locks together. Get the slope wrong and water sheet-flows toward your foundation. Get the compaction wrong and you’re back where you started in six months, just $300 lighter in materials. If the section is bigger than a single paver, call (850) 809-0306 and we’ll take a look. Estimates are free.
FAQs

A properly installed Cambridge Pavers driveway in Orlando lasts 25 to 30 years, and the pavers themselves rarely wear out; it’s the base and edge restraints that fail first. We’re happy to pull a section and show you exactly what’s happening under yours. Call (850) 809-0306 to set up a look.
Most of the time, yes. Sections can be removed, the base rebuilt, and the same pavers reset at a fraction of full replacement cost. If your base failed in one area, we repair that area. We don’t sell full replacements where a section repair does the job.
A typical sunken-section repair takes one to two days, which includes base excavation, compaction, re-screeding, paver reset, and joint sand. The pavers are ready to drive on the same day we finish because we use polymeric sand that firms up fast. Call (850) 809-0306 and we’ll tell you exactly what to expect before we start.
We stock edge restraints, bedding sand, joint sand, and a rotating inventory of matching pavers from the Ledgestone, Roundtable, and Sherwood lines in our Orlando trucks. Color matching is the hard part, and we check against your actual pavers before any replacement goes in. Call (850) 809-0306 and we’ll bring samples to your driveway.
