Oldcastle Fence Installation: The Orlando Owner’s Guide

Oldcastle fence installation in Orlando typically runs $3,500 to $9,000 for a full perimeter job, and we install and service Oldcastle-compatible fence systems across the metro area. Most owners discover they need us after a storm, when a section starts leaning, or when a gate stops latching after a hard season. You’ll usually see it before you feel it: a post listing at the corner of the yard, or a panel that’s started to pull away from its frame.

We stock common Oldcastle fence parts on the truck, so the first visit usually gets the diagnosis and the fix done in one trip. If you have an existing Oldcastle fence in Orlando and a section is failing, here’s what you need to know.

Which Oldcastle Models This Applies To

An open living space after a whole-home remodel

Oldcastle makes several fence lines, but in Orlando the ones we see most are their vinyl privacy fence panels, ornamental aluminum, and the composite post-and-rail systems. Each uses different post dimensions and rail brackets. The vinyl panels typically use 5″ x 5″ posts with a routed rail slot; the aluminum lines use 2″ or 2.5″ square posts with internal bracket systems. Those are not interchangeable, and that’s the most common compatibility mistake we see with DIY fixes.

If you can’t find a label on the panel, measure the post profile and the rail spacing. A genuine Oldcastle vinyl panel will usually have the rail slots spaced evenly and a tongue-and-groove panel bed. Good aftermarket panels exist, but they don’t always match the UV-stabilized color batch of your original fence, so a replacement panel in a slightly off-white is a visible patch in an Orlando sun-bleached yard. We default to OEM Oldcastle parts when they’re available, and we’ll tell you when an aftermarket option is just as good.

Signs Your Oldcastle Fence Installation Is Failing

  • Posts leaning at the base or below the soil line. In Orlando’s sandy soil, a post that wasn’t set deep enough or without enough concrete will shift after a few heavy rain seasons. You’ll notice the fence line starts to wave instead of run straight.
  • Panels pulling away from the post at the rail slots. Wind loads and repeated heating-cooling cycles work the rails loose from the routed channels. The panel starts to rattle in the wind and eventually drops out of the slot.
  • Gate sagging or dragging on the latch side. The hinge posts take all the gate’s weight, and if the post wasn’t set in enough concrete or the hinges were undersized, the gate drifts down a half-inch or more over time.
  • Bottom rails cracking or splitting where they meet the panel. Oldcastle vinyl rails are strong, but constant sun exposure in Central Florida makes the lower rails brittle faster than the top rails. Once a rail cracks, the panel loses its bottom support.
  • White residue or chalky surface on the panels. That’s not a failure by itself, but it means the UV stabilizers in the vinyl are degrading. The panel is more likely to crack under pressure once that chalkiness sets in.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

A remodeled living room with built-in shelves around the fireplace

A partial Oldcastle fence installation or repair in Orlando that involves one or two posts and a panel typically runs $400 to $1,200, depending on how much concrete work is needed at the post bases. A full fence replacement for an average Orlando yard lands between $3,500 and $9,000, with the wider range driven by linear footage, post depth, gate count, and whether we’re reusing any of the existing structure. The biggest cost driver on a full replacement is almost always the post setting, not the panel material itself.

Every quote we give includes parts, labor, concrete, and cleanup, plus removal and haul-away of the old fence if you want it. No hidden line items after the fact. The number you approve is the number on the invoice. Our work carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise, so if a post shifts or a panel fails within a year of the install, we come back and make it right.

DIY or Call Us?

You can safely check a few things: whether a post is visibly cracked at the base, whether the rails have pulled out of the slots, and whether the gate hinges are tight. That’s worth knowing before you call, because it helps us come loaded with the right parts. What’s harder to do safely is pulling an old post out of Orlando soil, especially if it was set in concrete, and resetting it so it stays plumb through hurricane season. Get the post depth or the concrete mix wrong, and the same section fails again in a year.

Oldcastle panel and rail work doesn’t carry the same physical danger as a high-tension spring or a live electrical line, but fence posts and panels are heavy, and a panel that drops on a leg or a hand can do real damage. If you’re not sure what you’re looking at, call us at (850) 809-0306 and we’ll walk you through it.
