ViewLux Fence Installation: The Orlando Owner’s Guide

ViewLux fence installation in Orlando typically runs $3,500 to $9,000 for a standard residential yard, and yes, we stock ViewLux-compatible panels, posts, and hardware on our trucks so we can usually start the same week you call. Most Orlando homeowners who call us about ViewLux already know the product is failing, they just don’t know whether the problem is the vinyl, the aluminum insert, or the post anchoring. You’ll usually see it first at the gate or along the side yard where wind loads hit hardest, and once one panel starts pulling, the rest follow within a season.

We install and replace ViewLux fencing across Orlando, from College Park bungalows with tight lot lines to Dr. Phillips properties where lakefront soil changes how posts need to be set. ViewLux is a solid product, but Central Florida humidity and afternoon thunderstorms expose weak points in any fence system, and ViewLux is no exception. The good news is that most failures are isolated, which means you’re looking at a repair or partial replacement, not a full tear-out.

Sawyer Remodel Orlando is an independent installer, not affiliated with ViewLux. We work with their product line because it holds up well in Florida when installed correctly, and we know exactly what fails on it and why.

Which ViewLux Models This Applies To

ViewLux makes several fence lines, and the compatibility gotcha that trips up Orlando homeowners is this: the original ViewLux Classic series uses a different post profile than the ViewLux Estate series, and the two are not interchangeable without modifying every panel. If you have a Classic fence and someone sells you Estate replacement panels, you’ll find out the hard way that the tongue-and-groove spacing is off by roughly a quarter inch per panel, which compounds across a run.

To identify what you have, look at the post cap. Classic series posts have a square cap that sits flush. Estate series posts have a beveled cap with a slight overhang. If your posts are blank or painted over, check the bottom rail: Classic rails are a single extrusion, while Estate rails have a visible seam where the reinforcing aluminum channel is inset. We stock both profiles and know which Orlando neighborhoods tend to have which, which speeds up the matching process considerably.

On the OEM versus aftermarket question, our honest take is this: for ViewLux panels and rails, stick with OEM or a ViewLux-licensed equivalent. The UV stabilizers in the vinyl are matched to the Florida sun exposure rating, and generic white vinyl fence panels from a big-box store will chalk and yellow within two years here. We’ve seen it happen in Baldwin Park and Winter Park too many times, and the buyer ends up paying twice. For hardware like gate hinges, latch assemblies, and post caps, a quality aftermarket part is often a better value, as long as the metal is stainless or powder-coated aluminum, never galvanized steel, which rusts at the coast.

Signs Your ViewLux Fence Installation Is Failing

  • Panels pulling away from posts at the top or bottom rail. This means the routing channel that holds the panel has stretched or cracked. In Orlando, the main cause is thermal expansion, summer sun heats the vinyl to the point where the channel deforms, and once it’s stretched, it will not return to spec.
  • Leaning posts, especially along fence lines that catch afternoon wind. The post was likely set in a concrete footer that was too shallow for Florida’s sandy soil. A properly set Orlando fence post goes down 30 to 36 inches, anything less and the first tropical storm season will move it.
  • White chalky residue that comes off on your hand. This is UV degradation of the vinyl surface. ViewLux panels are treated, but once the treatment wears through, the PVC oxidizes. It is cosmetic at first, but it signals the panel is losing flexibility and will crack under impact.
  • Gate sagging or dragging on the latch side. The hinge screws have stripped out of the post, or the post itself has shifted. ViewLux gates are heavy because of the internal aluminum reinforcement, and a sagging gate will eventually pull the post completely out of plumb.
  • Cracks at the post base or along the bottom rail after a storm. Debris impact is the usual culprit. Once the vinyl shell is cracked, water gets inside, and in Orlando’s humidity, that water never fully dries. The aluminum channel inside starts to corrode, and the structural integrity of the whole section is compromised.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

A whole-home remodel with the living, dining and kitchen areas opened up

For Orlando, you should budget $3,500 to $9,000 for a full ViewLux fence installation or large-scale replacement. The range is driven by three things: linear footage of the fence line, whether we’re reusing existing posts or setting new ones, and the specific ViewLux series you have. A typical 150-foot backyard with one gate in the Orlando metro area lands right around $5,500 for a full panel and rail replacement with new hardware, assuming posts are sound.

When we replace sections, the price includes the panels and rails, new aluminum support channels where needed, matching post caps, stainless hardware, and removal of the old material from your property. We give you a written price before any work starts, and the number on that sheet is the number you pay, no change orders, no surprise upcharges after the job begins. Every installation is covered by our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if something’s not right, we make it right. That’s in writing, not just spoken on a handshake.

For partial repairs, like swapping three damaged panels and a gate, you’re usually looking at $800 to $2,500 depending on what the gate needs. We will not pad a small repair into a full replacement. If your posts are solid and the panels are intact, a repair is what we recommend.

DIY or Call Us?

You can safely do the inspection side of this yourself. Walk the fence line, push gently on each post, look for the cracks and chalky residue described above, and note which sections feel loose. That gives us a useful starting point on the phone. You should not try to pull and reset a leaning post yourself, especially if the panel next to it is still tight. The aluminum insert inside a ViewLux panel is under load when the adjacent posts are out of plumb, and releasing that tension without bracing the section can send a 40-pound panel into you or a window.

Digging a new Orlando post hole correctly means going deep enough to get below the loose topsoil, which in places like Conway or Pine Hills can be 18 inches of sand before you hit anything stable. If you guess short, you’ll be redoing it next spring. If any part of this sounds like more weekend than you want, call us at (850) 809-0306 and we’ll walk the line with you and tell you straight what needs replacing and what doesn’t.
